Citizen Lake Monitoring

Since 2012, Volunteer Water Monitors have contributed to vital water quality data for Beltrami County. Water quality data is used to track changes over time & to assess remediation needs.
Citizen Volunteer Water Monitors are trained on sampling procedures and provided with all necessary equipment. Each month of the sampling season, a water sample & measurements are taken from the same point in a given lake. The 2026 sampling season runs from May through September.

If you are interested in volunteering your time & adding to valuable water quality data, please contact us today!
