Forest Stewardship Plans
A Forest Stewardship Plan is the key to improved forest management as well as possible financial and tax-relief incentives!
Beltrami SWCD is offering cost-share for landowners with 20 or more wooded acres in Beltrami County. There are several programs that offer an opportunity for partial reimbursement of a Forest Stewardship Plan.
Once you have the plan, you can easily explore the options of an additional incentive program.
Why Should you get a Forest Stewardship Plan?
-
Because the plan is written by a forester, it provides helpful strategies that guide the landowner to
achieve the vision they have for their property. -
Property goals could encompass anything from improving wildlife habitat to setting aside certain areas of a property for a future timber sale.
-
A Forest Stewardship Plan also provides a “foot-in-the-door” to enroll in one of two incentive programs that essentially pay the landowner for owning their woodlands!
