Balsam Fir is an evergreen conifer known for its symmetrical, narrow, spire-like crown. At maturity, Balsam Fir will grow 40-70 feet tall and 15-25 feet wide. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained acidic soil. This tree is loved for its aromatic needles, which also provide structure to the landscape and interest in the winter months.
