Paper Birch Paper Birch is intolerant of shade, lives about 80 years and reaches an average height of 40 to 60 feet. It prefers moist to well -drained soils. The wildlife value is good, and the growth rate is moderate. It has an attractive white bark and prefers cool, moist upland conditions.
