Manchurian Crab Manchurian Crab is shade intolerant. It lives about 30 to 40 years, and grows to an average height of 15 to 20 feet. It prefers well-drained soils. It has excellent wildlife value, and grows moderately. It has early white showy flowers, with fruit that is smaller and more uniform than Red Splendor crab. Two or more crab trees are needed in an area to cross-pollinate. It is highly susceptible to deer browse, and protective measures should be taken in areas of high deer population.
