Highbush Cranberry
Viburnum trilobum
Highbush Cranberry is moderately shade tolerant. It suckers, so will often spread. It grows to an average height of 10 to 16 feet. It prefers moderately well-drained to poorly-drained soil. It has good to very good wildlife value, and grows moderately. It retains its fruit in the winter, and has white flat-topped flowers. It is highly susceptible to deer browse, and protective measures should be taken in areas of high deer population.
