American Plum
Prunus americana

American Plum is shade intolerant.  It suckers prolifically and creates thickets.  It typically lives 35 to 65 years and grows to an average height of 20 to 25 feet.  It prefers moderately well-drained to well-drained soil.  It has good wildlife value, and grows very fast.  It produces edible fruit.
