Downy Hawthorn
Crataegus Mollis

Downy Hawthorn is shade intolerant and very long lived.  Average height ranges from 15 to 20 feet.  It grows in medium to heavy, well drained soils.  It can tolerate heavy or unproductive soils.  It has good wildlife value and grows moderately fast to fast.  The blooms can be lavender, pink and white.  It produces a red berry with an edible pulp.
