Siouxland Cottonwood
Populus deltoides

Siouxland Cottonwood is shade intolerant.  It lives about 70 years, and grows to an average height of 80 to 100 feet.  It prefers well-drained to moderately well-drained soil.  It has excellent wildlife value, and grows very fast.  The Siouxland Cottonwood is seedless.  It is commonly used in windbreaks and shelterbelts.  It is highly susceptible to deer browse, and protective measures should be taken in areas of high deer population.
