Siouxland Cottonwood Siouxland Cottonwood is shade intolerant. It lives about 70 years, and grows to an average height of 80 to 100 feet. It prefers well-drained to moderately well-drained soil. It has excellent wildlife value, and grows very fast. The Siouxland Cottonwood is seedless. It is commonly used in windbreaks and shelterbelts.
