The Soil and Water Conservation Districts Poster Contest is held every year
for students in the 5th and 6th grades who are living or going to school in
Minnesota. Students submit their poster to the district for judging.
There is a winner for each participating school, and an overall winner for the
county. The winning posters in the county advance to the area
contest, and the winner of the area contest advances to the state contest.
The 2004 theme is "Community
Waters." Posters
were judged using the following criterion:
50%
for impact of conservation message - written and artistic message
30%
originality
20%
artistic arrangement
Three schools participated this year. There were a lot of
wonderful posters, and it was a tough (and close) vote. This year's winner
for Beltrami County is Erin Hawes from Mrs. Johnson's Class at Blackduck Elementary.
Congratulations Erin!
